Meet Fatima! Sabina sure did!

Sabina hasn't met another Muslim girl since her parents pretty much sold her and she was forced to leave her family, so she's excited about the opportunity. Plus Fatima, being new, could use someone to show her around the giant mess that is the world I've created here. I don't know, it seemed fitting to draw them together.

This is the first time I've actually drawn Sabina in casual clothes, instead of just workout leotards. While she doesn't wear hijab or anything, she's very modest when she can be. She isn't very religious, it's hard to be when you're literally the only person you know of a certain religion (well, her parents are Muslim too, but she didn't have much contact with them), and she wasn't allowed to practice at the school. She didn't have time to pray, if they served some haram food she couldn't make a fuss, if her costume was immodest she had no way of changing it, etc.. Her desire to be modest is still largely to please Allah, but it is also just her own desire to be covered more. 

I got carried away talking about Sabina, as I haven't used her in a while, but Fatima doesn't have a personality yet so I can't say much about her. She's more conservative, which I think is clear, but I don't have anything else. 

I imagine that for this picture, Sabina just kind of appeared out of nowhere and is like "SALAM! I hearing that you need guidance!" "... Who are you, and why are you here?" "Come, come, I show you around yes! This is white void, over there is many white void, and... ooh, over there is hole in plot, don't look.", and somehow Sabina manages to win Fatima over with her socially awkward charms and they become friends. 

How did they meet? Doesn't Sabina still live in China while Fatima lives near the rest of my characters? Where did Fatima come from? Where did she go? Who is Cotton Eye Joe, and where did he come from and go to? Will Sabina ever finally realize she's being used and none of those people really care about her, so she can finally move to be with her real friends, such as Fatima and Jiao-Jun? 

I 'unno. 

Enough rambling though. I got Fatima's outfit from here, by although it wasn't originally a niqab: fav.me/d9z01ws (I'm not sure if Fatima will normally wear niqabs or if I'll switch her to hijabs) 

And I want to thank everyone for voting when I asked about her skin and eye colors. A4 and B3 were tied when I counted the votes, so I took skin tone 3 and did eyes A and B

I will hopefully do some better art of both of these girls soon, I know this one is definitely rough looking, especially Sabina's hand.
